This was originally attached to a bunch of medical info but I’d actually like to be able to look back at craft things without needing to see that myself so I’ve reposted it separately.

In news that isn’t related to my Agonies, I don’t trust myself with the scissors or rotary cutter atm because my hands are playing up, so lining my little crochet bag is not on the cards for now. And my cardigan with the skull squares at the back has gone a bit wrong in a way that means starting again. Not the end of the world but I think it needs some time in the corner to think about what it’s done.

So! I’ve been thinking about a different project that I was going to knit but since I am working on my crochet skills, I could crochet instead! I need a lap blanket for when I use my wheelchair this winter. I hate wearing a full length coat in my chair and stick to multiple layers of wool on top, but it means that my legs are even colder.

As I was once more lusting after the Persian Tiles blanket that my mother and I were looking at when I taught myself to crochet the third time (this is the fourth) I noticed that a few projects had been one with colour changing yarn instead of a million balls of individual colours, which drops the tediousness and difficulty significantly.

Check these out! Both using Yarnsmith Lagoon DK + 2 contrast colours.

I dreamed, briefly, of doing an abbreviated Persian Tiles blanket in lap size, perhaps 4 medallions and a border? Then I did a test medallion and that is still beyond my skill so I have put it aside again. But I am coming for it eventually.

in the meantime, I am making a blanket from six petal African flower motifs. I haven’t decided how to join them yet, nor whether to add more colours, like blue, green and purple? Make it a rainbow?

Here are the ones I’ve made so far, on my breakfast table. That cuppa was cold by the time I remembered to drink it :(
